Atlanta's melodic-trap stylist — liquid flows and designer-drip anthems, delivered with barely a raised pulse and total control.

Gunna is the stage name of Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, born June 14, 1993, in College Park, Georgia, and raised by his mother alongside four older brothers. He started writing music at fifteen, listening to Cam'ron, Chingy and Outkast, and released an early mixtape, Hard Body, under the name Yung Serg in 2013.

He was introduced to Young Thug through a mutual friend, Keith Troup, and first reached a wider audience with a guest verse on Thug's 'Floyd Mayweather.' Gunna signed to Young Thug's YSL Records in 2016 and released the Drip Season mixtapes that followed, working closely with producer Wheezy, whose airy trap beats became the frame for Gunna's half-sung, elastic delivery.

Drip Season 3, in 2018, gave him his first chart entry, and the same year's collaboration with fellow Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, Drip Harder, reached number four on the Billboard 200. Its single 'Drip Too Hard' hit number four on the Hot 100, went on to be certified diamond, and earned a Grammy nomination.

Drip or Drown 2 followed in 2019, then Wunna in 2020, his first number-one album, driven by the top-ten single 'Lemonade.' DS4Ever became his second number-one in 2022, while A Gift & a Curse (2023), One of Wun (2024) and The Last Wun (2025) each reached the top three of the Billboard 200.

The Last Wun, released in 2025, was his final project under the YSL/300 arrangement. In May 2022, Gunna was arrested as part of a RICO indictment against YSL alongside Young Thug; he accepted a plea deal that December and was released from custody.
