The Lovell sisters play slide guitar and harmony vocals with a Georgia blues fluency that took years to earn — roots-rock swagger, zero costume.

Larkin Poe is the project of sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, raised near Atlanta and active under this name since 2009. They first performed with their older sister Jessica as the Lovell Sisters, an acoustic trio formed in 2005 that released two independent albums before disbanding in 2010. The band's name comes from Larkin Poe, a great-great-great-great-grandfather and cousin of Edgar Allan Poe.

Traces of that bluegrass training remain in their harmony singing and in Megan's lap steel and Dobro playing, which sits at the front of most arrangements alongside Rebecca's lead vocals and guitar. Their records lean on electric blues and Southern rock, mixing original songs with reworked traditional material, and the live show is built around slide guitar and close sibling harmony. The band has also become known online for stripped-back cover videos filmed as a duo.

Between 2010 and 2013 the sisters self-released a run of EPs and collaborative albums before signing with RH Music, which put out their debut album, Kin, in 2014. That year they also recorded harmonies and instrumentation for the New Basement Tapes project, produced by T Bone Burnett alongside Marcus Mumford, Elvis Costello and Jim James.

Later albums included Peach in 2017, Venom & Faith in 2018, which earned a Grammy nomination, and Self Made Man in 2020, alongside a covers record, Kindred Spirits. Blood Harmony, released in 2022, won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2024. Bloom followed in 2025. The band is now based in Nashville.
