John Kelley is a Los Angeles DJ associated with the Southern California desert party scene, and in particular with the Moontribe full-moon gatherings that began in the early 1990s. His sets favour long, gradual progressive house and breakbeat, built around momentum rather than obvious peaks, and shaped for outdoor events that run through the night into the morning.
He is also known for the Funky Desert Breaks series of mixes, which circulated widely and helped define the West Coast breaks sound of that era.
