Deep Dish
Dubfire and Sharam's Grammy-winning partnership — the sound of American progressive house at its late-'90s peak, reunited and undimmed, marathon sets included.
Deep Dish is the duo of Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi, two Iranian-American producers who met in Washington, DC and began releasing records in the early 1990s, later running their own Yoshitoshi label. Their 1995 remix of De'Lacy's "Hideaway" first drew wider attention to the pair's work.
Their productions and remixes helped define a strain of progressive house that was lush, long-form and vocal-friendly. They released original albums including Junk Science and George Is On, had a UK hit with "Flashdance," and won a Grammy for their remix of Dido's "Thank You," later picking up a nomination for "Say Hello."
The pair split in 2006, Dubfire moving toward stripped-back techno and Sharam toward his own productions. Sharam's 2009 Essential Mix was voted the best of that year, a sign of how far each half of the group had built a career apart from the original partnership.
They regrouped briefly in 2014 for the single "Quincy" and a new Essential Mix, then returned fully to the studio and touring circuit a decade later. In 2025 they released "Midnight," their first original single in over ten years, featuring Eynka and Wrabel, alongside sold-out residencies at The Cause and fabric in London.
