The Songs for Kids Foundation showcase — kids the Atlanta nonprofit works with, on a real festival stage with the musicians who mentor them year-round.

Songs for Kids is a benefit performance connected to the Atlanta-based Songs for Kids Foundation, a nonprofit that brings live music and music-making to children in hospitals, treatment centers and special-needs programs. The organization's work is built around musicians visiting kids directly, playing at bedsides and in common rooms, and helping participants write, perform and record their own material. The festival showcase puts those participants on stage, backed by players from the Atlanta scene who volunteer with the foundation, in a loose collaborative format with rotating singers rather than a fixed band.
