The Number Twelve Looks Like You

The Number Twelve Looks Like You came together in Bergen County, New Jersey in 2002, growing out of an earlier group called And Ever formed by Jesse Korman, Chree Conger and Justin Pedrick. The new name was borrowed from a Twilight Zone episode, "Number 12 Looks Just Like You," and the lineup filled out with bassist Mike Smagula.
Their songs mix grindcore's blast-beat speed and screamed vocals with screamo's more melodic breaks, jazz-inflected instrumental turns and clean-sung choruses, often swapping between styles within a single song rather than settling into one.
The band signed to Brutal Records in 2003 and released its debut, Put On Your Rosy Red Glasses, before moving to Eyeball Records the following year. There they issued the EP An Inch of Gold for an Inch of Time and the album Nuclear. Sad. Nuclear., recorded in just seven days with producer D. James Goodwin.
2007's Mongrel reached the Billboard Heatseekers and Top Independent Albums charts, and 2009's Worse Than Alone followed it onto the Heatseekers chart despite leaking online days before release. The band also issued a live CD/DVD and a limited "alien green" vinyl remix single during this period.
The band went on hiatus in 2010, having recorded for Corrosive Recordings as well as Eyeball, and stayed quiet for six years. In 2016 they played a secret show before announcing their reunion, and have since resumed touring and recording new material.
