Danny Brown is a rapper from Detroit whose high, nasal delivery and willingness to work with unconventional producers set him apart from his peers. He broke through with the 2011 mixtape XXX and followed it with Old and Atrocity Exhibition, the latter taking its title from a Joy Division song and pairing anxious, distorted production with unusually candid writing about addiction and paranoia.
He can switch between the manic upper-register voice he is best known for and a lower, more conversational flow. Later work includes uknowhatimsayin¿, produced in part by Q-Tip, and Scaring the Hoes, a collaborative album with JPEGMAFIA.
