Floating Points is Sam Shepherd, a producer, keyboardist and DJ based in London who completed a doctorate in neuroscience while releasing music. His early records leaned toward house and broken, jazz-inflected club tracks, and he has since worked across long-form electronic composition, live band arrangements and DJ sets. He founded the Eglo Records label and has released albums including Elaenia, Crush and Promises, the last a collaboration with saxophonist Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra. His live shows shift considerably in scale, from solo modular and keyboard performances to extended DJ sets.
