Spiked-hair UK82 hardcore whose buzzsaw riffs fed directly into American thrash — Birmingham veterans still playing at full pelt.

GBH formed in Birmingham at the turn of the 1980s, originally billed as Charged GBH, and became one of the defining bands of the UK82 wave alongside Discharge and The Exploited. Their early records, including City Baby Attacked by Rats and City Baby's Revenge, paired short, fast songs about violence, war and squalor with a thick, distorted guitar sound.

Vocalist Colin Abrahall and guitarist Colin "Jock" Blyth have anchored the group throughout. GBH's mix of hardcore speed and metallic riffing was absorbed by American thrash and crossover bands during the 1980s, and the band has continued to record and tour internationally for four decades.
