Loathe are a metal band from Liverpool, formed in the mid-2010s. Their music combines the rhythmic weight of metalcore and djent with the guitar textures and softer vocal passages associated with shoegaze and alternative metal, a combination most fully realised on "I Let It In and It Took Everything."

The contrast between crushing, low-tuned riffs and long ambient stretches is central to how their albums are structured, and comparisons to Deftones follow them for good reason. They have built their following largely through UK and European touring and word of mouth within heavy music circles.
