Bleeding Through formed in Orange County, California, in 1999, with vocalist Brandan Schieppati at the centre of the lineup. The band was part of the Southern California metalcore wave of the early 2000s, releasing records through Trustkill and later Rise Records.
Their sound distinguished itself with keyboards and black metal-influenced tremolo passages layered over hardcore breakdowns and melodic death metal riffing. The group disbanded in the mid-2010s before later reuniting, and remains associated with the harder, darker end of the era's metalcore rather than its more radio-friendly side.
