Hunx and His Punx is the band fronted by Seth Bogart, who took the Hunx persona from his earlier work in the Oakland electro-punk group Gravy Train!!!!. Formed in 2008, the group plays garage punk shot through with 1960s girl-group melodies, doo-wop harmony and unashamedly camp, explicitly queer lyrics.
Their records have appeared on labels including Hardly Art and In the Red, among them the melodic Too Young to Be in Love and the faster, harder Street Punk. Shannon Shaw of Shannon and the Clams has been a long-running member and foil for Bogart. Live, the band trades on bratty humour and lo-fi noise, with Bogart's stage presence and visual work as much a part of the project as the songs.
