BANGZZ is a punk duo from Durham, North Carolina, formed in the mid-2010s. The band works in a stripped-down garage punk mode with clear debts to riot grrrl — short songs, blunt hooks, shouted vocals and lyrics that address gender, power and everyday frustration with a streak of humour. Operating as a two-piece keeps the arrangements sparse and rhythm-driven, and their sets tend toward speed and brevity rather than extended jams. They have been a fixture of the Triangle area's DIY scene.
