Nekrogoblikon formed in Los Angeles in 2006 and play melodic death metal built around an elaborate conceit: most of their lyrics concern goblins. The music itself is played straight, with tremolo-picked riffs, blast beats, keyboard and symphonic flourishes and harsh vocals, and the contrast between the technical execution and the subject matter is the point.
They are widely known for the song "No One Survives" and its video, and for the costumed goblin mascot John Goblikon, who has become a character in his own right in the band's videos and live shows.
