Pittsburgh pop-punk survivors with a knack for shiny, earworm choruses — longtime road-dogs who still bring it, twenty-plus years deep.

Punchline formed in Pittsburgh in 1998 and has kept a largely stable line-up centred on brothers Steve and PJ Soergel, with Chris Fafalios on bass. Their music falls between pop punk and power pop: bright guitars, tight vocal harmonies and a strong emphasis on melody, generally at a lighter touch than their harder-edged peers. The band has released a long run of albums independently and through smaller labels since the early 2000s, and has toured steadily throughout.
