One of emo's foundational bands, gone almost as fast as they arrived — glassy guitars and yearning restraint. A reunion set that carries real historical weight.

Texas is the Reason formed in New York City in 1994, built around vocalist and guitarist Garrett Klahn, guitarist Norman Brannon, bassist Scott Winegard and drummer Chris Daly, all of whom had played in hardcore bands beforehand. Their sound softened that background into ringing, melodic guitar lines and restrained, emotive vocals, and they became one of the reference points for mid-1990s emo. The band released a self-titled EP and the album Do You Know Who You Are? on Revelation Records before splitting in 1997, having existed for only around three years. They have reunited for shows on several occasions since.
