Bob Nanna is a Chicago singer and guitarist best known as the frontman of Braid, whose late-1990s records are among the touchstones of Midwest emo. He also led Hey Mercedes, formed after Braid's initial break-up, and has played in a number of other projects around the Chicago scene.
His solo performances are typically stripped down to voice and guitar, drawing on material from across those bands. The songs keep the angular phrasing and conversational, detail-heavy lyrics of his earlier work, with the between-song talk a regular part of the show.
