Moody, bass-heavy alt-metal that trades breakdowns for slow-building dread and falsetto — 'FEEL NOTHING' the crossover moment.

The Plot in You started as a side project called Vessels, built by Landon Tewers while he was still part of the post-hardcore band Before Their Eyes. A self-produced EP under that name, Wife Beater, came out in 2010 through InVogue Records. Tewers then left Before Their Eyes, renamed the project the Plot in You, and put together a touring lineup before signing to Rise Records for a debut album.

Early albums, beginning with First Born in 2011, lean on screamed vocals and heavy riffing typical of the genre. Across records like Could You Watch Your Children Burn and Happiness in Self Destruction, the sound slowed and thickened, built on low-tuned guitars, programmed textures and Tewers shifting between clean singing, falsetto and harsher delivery.

That shift drew wider attention with 'Feel Nothing,' a song built on a quiet-to-heavy structure that reached a far bigger audience than the band's earlier work. Its restraint marked a turning point, moving the group away from sustained aggression toward space, dynamics and dread.

The band signed to StaySick Recordings in 2015 for Happiness in Self Destruction, then moved to Fearless Records in 2017 for Dispose. A fifth album, Swan Song, followed in 2021. Tewers now works alongside guitarist Josh Childress, bassist Ethan Yoder and drummer Michael Cooper.
