Tokyo cult selector Yousuke Yukimatsu — genre-shredding DJ sets that went from viral clips to worldwide bookings, anything-goes technique with total joy.

Yousuke Yukimatsu is a Japanese DJ from Osaka whose sets move quickly between techno, hardcore, ambient, pop edits and older club records, often with abrupt cuts rather than smooth transitions. His reputation grew largely through videos of him playing, which circulated internationally and led to bookings well beyond Japan, and he has since become a regular presence in European clubs. He returned to DJing after treatment for a brain tumour, a detail that has featured in much of the writing about him. On stage he plays with visible physical enthusiasm, and his sets are generally described in terms of unpredictability rather than a fixed style or tempo.
