AzChike is a rapper from Los Angeles who came up through the city's ratchet scene in the late 2010s. He raps in a high, animated voice that sits somewhere between a yelp and a taunt, usually over bouncy, bass-forward West Coast beats, and much of his appeal rests on comic timing and blunt punchlines rather than technical display. He is closely associated with fellow LA rapper AzSwaye, with whom he has recorded frequently.
A steady run of mixtapes and singles built him a following on the West Coast before wider audiences caught up. His profile grew considerably after he appeared alongside Kendrick Lamar on "Peekaboo," from Lamar's 2024 album GNX, a track that leaned on exactly the kind of playful, off-kilter delivery AzChike had been refining for years.
