Brooklyn R&B veteran of the purple-haired era, sharper than ever — sleek vocals with a decade of industry survival behind them.

Justine Skye, born Justine Indira Skyers, grew up in Brooklyn and built an early following on Tumblr. As a teenager she recorded songs to accompany the book Rules to Rock By and posted a cover of Drake's "Headlines" that drew millions of views online. Her 2012 mixtape Skye High and the EP Everyday Living that followed led to a deal with Atlantic Records when she was nineteen.

The purple hair she wore through those early years earned her the nickname the Purple Unicorn. Her single "Hard Work" reached the BET 106 & Park top ten, and in 2015 she released her debut album, Emotionally Unavailable. The single that followed, "Collide", featuring Tyga, became one of her best-known tracks and found a second audience online years later.

Skye left Atlantic in 2016 for Roc Nation and Republic Records, releasing the EP 8 Ounces that December. Her next album, Ultraviolet, followed in January 2018, carrying the singles "U Don't Know", featuring Wizkid, "Back for More", featuring Jeremih, and "Don't Think About It"; it peaked at number sixteen on the R&B Album Sales chart.

Space & Time arrived in 2021, executively produced by Timbaland and leaning into slower, moodier R&B. Alongside music, Skye has worked in fashion and modelling, performing at a Tommy Hilfiger show in Brazil and at Jay-Z's Tidal 10x20 event, and appearing as a guest star on House of DVF.
