Lil' Louis is a Chicago producer and DJ, born Louis Burns, who was part of the first wave of house music in the city. He began DJing in Chicago clubs in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and by the late 1980s was releasing his own productions. "French Kiss", released in 1989, became an international hit and is remembered as much for its dramatic tempo drop as for its bassline. He followed it with the album From the Mind of Lil Louis and, working as Lil Louis & The World, the single "Club Lonely". His sets and productions stay rooted in the deep, soulful side of Chicago house.
