South London soul with a smoky low register — barroom grit under the velvet.

Sasha Keable was born on 27 February 1994 to a British father and Colombian mother. She grew up on soul and hip hop, citing Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Lauryn Hill as key influences, and trained at the BRIT School before beginning her recording career as a teenager.

In 2013 she wrote and featured on DJ Zinc's house track 'Only for Tonight', and co-wrote and sang on Disclosure's 'Voices', touring the UK with the duo that year. The following year she supported Katy B on a UK tour.

Keable released two EPs through Tinie Tempah's label Disturbing London, Black Book in 2013 and Lemongrass and Limeleaves in 2014, while also signing to Polydor, part of Universal Music. She later worked in the studio with producer Dev Hynes on material intended for a debut album.

Her own material sits in R&B and soul, built around a deep, husky voice and writing that tends toward the direct and unguarded.

Her 2021 EP Intermission included 'Killing Me', a collaboration with Jorja Smith. In 2024 she released a run of singles, 'Hold Up', 'Auction' with Destin Conrad, 'Take Your Time' featuring 6lack, and 'Why', continuing to appear as a featured vocalist on other artists' records alongside her solo work.
