Zion Train

1 upcoming festival

UK dub soundsystem veterans providing the bass-heavy comedown to a weekend of guitars — echo chambers set to heal.

Zion Train is a British dub collective formed in London in 1990, led by producer and engineer Neil Perch. The group emerged from the UK's soundsystem and free-party culture, releasing records on their own label and building a reputation across Europe as one of the more prominent post-punk-era dub acts.

Their sound combines heavy bass and drum foundations with brass, melodica, live vocals and extensive studio effects, mixing traditional Jamaican dub technique with electronic production. Performances are typically built around live mixing, with horns and toasters over the rhythm tracks. Perch has remained the constant presence through changing line-ups, and the group has continued recording and touring for more than three decades.
