Ricky Warwick
Frontman of The Almighty and later Black Star Riders, splitting his time between hard rock bite and stripped-back acoustic storytelling with a Celtic accent.
Ricky Warwick is a Northern Irish singer and guitarist who fronted the Scottish hard rock band The Almighty from the late 1980s. He later became the vocalist for Black Star Riders, the group formed out of the touring incarnation of Thin Lizzy, and has also performed with Thin Lizzy itself. Alongside the band work he has released solo material that leans acoustic and folk-inflected, with narrative lyrics and a strong Irish and Celtic influence, and his gravelly voice carries across both sides of his output.
