London duo who sing on their own records — moody, vocal-led melodic house that carries actual songs into progressive territory.

Eliza Noble and Jennifer Skillman met as teenagers while at sixth form at Hurtwood House, and the pairing grew out of a shared background in songwriting. Eli & Fur write and sing on their own tracks, which gives the music a stronger sense of song structure than much of the melodic house around it.

The duo began as a DJ act but have moved toward performing live, building sets in Ableton rather than relying solely on turntables. The music keeps its breathy vocals, extended builds and rolling percussion, staying closer to song form than most club-facing dance records.

Their debut track, "You're So High," reached the top three on Hype Machine on release in 2013 and has since passed seventy million views on YouTube. The following EP, Illusions, came out on NYX Records that same year.

Eli & Fur toured the United States in 2015, and their profile grew steadily on the strength of vocal-led club records placed with established dance labels. In December 2018, Kayak used music the duo made from sounds recorded on a trip to Japan for a travel advertising campaign.
