Pixel Grip are a Chicago group working in darkwave, EBM and industrial-leaning electronic pop, fronted by vocalist Rita Lukea. Their music is built on hard, repetitive synth basslines and drum-machine patterns, with vocals that move between spoken commands, whispers and sung hooks, and lyrics that deal openly with sex, power and queer desire.
The band draws on the club-oriented end of body music and minimal synth while keeping a pop sense of structure, and their live performances lean heavily on Lukea's theatrical presence. They have been associated with Chicago's underground dance and goth-adjacent scenes since the late 2010s.
