Ty Segall is an American songwriter, guitarist and producer, born in 1987 and long based in Los Angeles. He came up through the California garage scene, playing in bands including Epsilons and Sic Alps before concentrating on solo work, and he has kept up an unusually fast release rate ever since.
His catalogue moves between fuzzed-out garage punk, glam, acoustic folk and heavier psychedelia, taking in albums such as Melted, Goodbye Bread, Twins, Manipulator and Freedom's Goblin. He also records with the group Fuzz and has produced and collaborated widely with other artists in the same circle. His touring bands tend to play the material louder and looser than the recordings.
