North London's warped pop miniaturists — sticky hooks, uncanny angles, songs that sound familiar until they curdle.

Sorry grew out of Asha Lorenz and Louis O'Bryen's friendship in north London, where the pair first posted covers of Jimi Hendrix songs online before moving on to original material. Lorenz and O'Bryen still write the bulk of the songs as a duo, joined for recordings and live shows by Lincoln Barrett, Campbell Baum and Marco Pini.

Their music draws on indie rock, grunge, trip-hop and post-punk in roughly equal measure, often built from collaged samples and detuned guitars, with male-female vocals traded in a flat, deadpan register.

Between 2017 and 2020 the band put out a run of self-released mixtapes and singles that fed into their debut album, 925, issued through Domino in March 2020. It reached the UK independent albums chart and was named album of the week by Stereogum. A live album recorded at the Windmill in Brixton followed, with proceeds going toward the venue during the pandemic.

Their second album, Anywhere but Here, arrived in 2022 and was recorded with Portishead's Adrian Utley. Both O'Bryen and Lorenz have resisted labels like post-punk or grunge, saying what they make is simply pop.
