Ulrika Spacek are a London band formed in 2014, initially assembled by Rhys Edwards and Rhys Williams after time spent in Berlin. Their music is built around interlocking guitars, repetition and layered reverb, drawing on krautrock's steady pulse, American indie rock and shoegaze textures. Early albums were recorded largely in the house the members shared in east London, which gave the recordings a loose, live-in-a-room quality. The songs tend to unfold gradually, with vocals sitting low in the mix and instrumental passages given room to build, and the group has continued to release records after a break in activity.
